Do we need to alert you as to what requires repairing before attending, or just turn up on the day?
If you let us know beforehand what you will be bringing, there will be a better chance of us having just the right repairer on hand. On the other hand, you can just come down and surprise us!! If you want to let us know, drop us an email to mallingrepaircafe@gmail.com.
Is it just things that can be repaired on the day, or are there any professionals there?
All of our volunteers are either retired professionals or very experienced enthusiasts. Many items can be fixed on the day, but if it needs a replacement part, we will ask you to source it and bring it back next time for the part to be fitted.
Is there ever someone there who can replace a broken invisible zip?
We have a wonderful team of ladies here, we don’t carry zip spares so if you could source the zip and bring it with you, I am confident that one of the ladies will fit it for you.
What type of things can be repaired at the Repair Café?
Expert opinions say that almost anything can be repaired by Repair Café specialists with the right expertise and tools, including vacuum cleaners, lamps, hair dryers, clothes, bikes, toys, crockery, and more.
Some safety concerns prevent us from accepting old CRT TVs, microwaves electric blankets and E-Scooters, but the vast majority of broken items can be repaired.
